This was my four color raster. It is cmyk color mode, with a full bleed. I saved it as a flattened tif file.
When I first opened this file in photoshop I checked the resolution. It needed to be 300, but all mine was was 200. Though there was enough pixels to change the resolution to 200. Then I had to unlock the layer so I could change the canvas size. If you don't unlock the layer before you change the canvas size it will crop your photo. So after I unlocked the background layer I changed the canvas size to 4.5 x 6.25 inches. This is including the bleeds. It is supposed to be the size of a standard post card cover.
This is my COB (Cut Out Background). You had to save this file as a flattened eps file. It is also a duotone.
To make a COB you have to create a clipping path. I prefer the pen tool so that was my tool of choice. After you carefully trace the path you need to go to the paths panel and save the path. Then in the drop down menu select create a clipping path. Then save as the file as an eps. Even though the background isn't deleted it will not be there when you open it in Indesign. This file was also a 4.5 x 6.25 inch file to include the bleeds. It is also a 300 resolution file.
This is my duotone raster. I used black and PMS 116 (yellow). Saved as and eps file.
Again this file was also a 4.5 x 6.25 inch file to also accommodate a full bleed. It is a 300 resolution file.
This is my grayscale raster. I saved it as a flattened tiff file.
This is a 4.5 x 6.25 inch file including the .125 inch bleed for all four sides. It is in the grayscale color mode.
